Bobojon Ghafurov District is considered one of the leading agro-industrial regions of the republic. Agriculture is the main economic sector and plays a primary role in the district’s economic life.
A significant part of the working-age population is employed in agriculture. Therefore, the development of agriculture has not only an economic but also a social character: more than 94 percent of the population, including 90 percent of the working-age population, lives in rural areas.
