Ensuring the country’s food security is one of the strategic goals of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, and effective measures are being implemented in this direction within the Sughd Region.
Thanks to the continuous support and attention of the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, special importance is attached to the development of the agricultural sector, the efficient use of land, and the increase of agricultural production.
In this context, the management of “MMK Agro” LLC has decided to further expand the area of their greenhouses. During the presentation of the new greenhouse project to the Chairman of the Sughd Region, Rajabboy Ahmadzoda, it was reported that a modern, innovative production greenhouse will be built in the Somghor area of the Bobojon Gafurov district using advanced Dutch technology.
The total area of the new greenhouse will be 6.3 hectares. Once operational, it will contribute to increasing the production of fresh domestic vegetables and supplying the consumer market throughout all seasons of the year.
According to statistical data, as of January 1, 2026, there are 199 greenhouses operating in the Bobojon Gafurov district, with a total area of 27.2 hectares. In recent years, the construction of greenhouses has gained significant momentum in the agricultural towns and districts of the Sughd Region. This process has created a favorable foundation for increasing production volumes, creating new jobs, and ensuring food security.
The establishment of modern greenhouses by domestic companies, including the “Bars” company, is assessed as an important step toward the development of the agricultural sector and the implementation of new technologies, holding great significance for strengthening the production capacity of the region.
