The holiday of Tirgon was celebrated in the Bobojon Ghafurov district with all the traditional folk customs, in the presence of the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon. In his recent Address to the Majlisi Oli (Parliament) of the Republic of Tajikistan, the esteemed Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon, highlighted the reverence and historical significance of celebrating this national holiday, stating:
“We are duty-bound not only to take pride in the world-renowned heritage of our ancestors but also to claim ownership of it, study it, carry it forward, and pass it down to future generations as an invaluable treasure that shapes our national identity. We should be proud that our wise ancestors chose ‘good thoughts, good words, and good deeds’ as their life motto, representing a grand humanitarian value. Indeed, Navruz, which has now achieved international status, along with Mehrgon, Sada, and Tirgon-which embody humanitarian ideals and the glorification of nature—and the statehood traditions of our Aryan ancestors, which have played an enduring and influential role in human history, form the very foundation of our identity and authenticity as Tajiks.”
If the holiday of Sada is associated with winter, Navruz with spring, and Mehrgon with autumn, then Tirgon is the summer holiday of the Aryan peoples.
